After defeating a Dane in the HU, Ricardo Nagotomo wins $1,000,000 in the Anniversary Sunday Million.

Brazil, the nation with the most recent Sunday Million championships, won the event for the first time ever by sweeping all three crowns.

For Ricardo “RFN1986” Nagatomo to raise the green and yellow flag tonight, he had to go head-to-head against “roflcopter88” of Denmark. The winner of the Like a Boss Team grinder took home $1,000,000, while the runner-up padded his cash account by $723,474.

The FT included four of the eight Brazilians that made it to the Final Day. Everyone except Ricardo were eliminated from the $1,000,000 pot with the elimination of Vincius “Suferring102” Machado, Paulo “paulinhoo00” Brombim, and André “atredezini” Correia.

When André made an open push, he only had 6 bbs. Vlad “dariepoker” Darie made a call, but “songoks” quickly raised to a pot-busting all-in. Andre put out A5 when the Romanian folded. “songoks” had AQ and, unsurprised by the Q310AA advantage, pulled the pot.

Paul opened the betting on the same level with KK and shoved for three bets totaling seven blinds. Ricardo’s A10 were the calling cards when the action returned to him. Paul was unable to make it beyond the AJ859 cliff.

Ricardo had a roller coaster ride throughout the lengthy 6-handed. Even though he was at rock bottom, he doubled up against “roflcopter88” and came out on top.

Yet the deck had a negative effect on André. He bet 7 bbs on the flip, and the result was an all-in call from “PAX176.” The brasuca went from AA to 6 when up against 33. The situation did not alter after the river 9, hence the five-handed table was established.

The situation for Ricardo and “roflcopter88” was still crucial, with Ricardo having a 1:10 disadvantage. The European eliminated Darie and “songoks” in rapid succession to enter the final table as the chip leader.

Ricardo responded quickly. He quadrupled his bankroll against “roflcopter88A5 “‘s with 77 on a 3JJK6 board. The Brazilian hit AA on the very next turn, went in with a clean hand, and then moved all in for “PAX176.” The Pole’s AJ disadvantage was not mitigated by the K8565 edge.

Ricardo stopped “roflcopter88” from getting another significant lead right at the start of heads-up. When he closed up on his rival, he faced him head-on and gave chase.

Ricardo, with QQ, called the last bet from “roflcopter88,” who revealed a 4-bet push. After the A9, “roflcopter88” flipped over a 5J65J, thereby ending the competition.

The $7,500,000 guarantee was easily achieved thanks to the 39,500 entries at $215 each in the Sunday Million. Take a look at the breakdown of the $7,900,000 prize pool and how much each competitor won.
